Hunt to run GR Yaris Cup car at Southland

Four-time Brian Green Property Group New Zealand Rally champion Ben Hunt will compete at the Barry Robinson Memorial Rally Southland this month in a GR Yaris Cup car.

Hunt, the reigning national champion, will pilot a Toyota GR Yaris Cup car that is set to have its own championship class from next year.

Long-time co-driver Tony Rawstorn will be alongside Hunt when he takes on some iconic Southland gravel roads.

“Awesome to head back to Invercargill – I absolutely love the roads down there,” Hunt said.

“Excited to put the Toyota Cup car through its paces in a rally.

“I drove in a test and was amazed how good they are to drive.”

With the knowledge and recent experience, Hunt’s seat-time will help fine-tune the setup and provide practical feedback ahead of the single-make GR Yaris Rally Cup Championship launch in 2027.
