MRF control tyre given the thumbs up by competitors

Midway through the first season using the MRF control tyre and the competitor feedback has been overwhelmingly positive.

The recent competitor survey, sent to all competitors in the 2024 Brian Green Property Group New Zealand Rally Championship, saw 82% of respondents pleased with how the concept is working.

“Great for the sport in terms of funding and keeping the championship alive,” said one competitor.

“Levels the playing field from a purely competitive perspective,” said another.

The reaction to the performance of the tyre was more middle of the road with many competitors keen to see more compound variety.

A total of 63% of competitors would like to see a harder compound added – something the championship and MRF are in the process of implementing.

The competitors were very satisfied with the servicing from Palmside NZ, who are the local distributor.
