Stokes thrilled to earn Elite Academy spot
Jack Stokes is the latest driver from the Brian Green Property Group New Zealand Rally Championship to be included in the MotorSport New Zealand Elite Academy.
Stokes, who impressed in his rookie campaign last season, turned heads earlier this year when he won the opening stage of Otago Rally and underlined his immense potential.
He follows the likes of Zeal Jones, Ari Pettigrew and older brother Robbie Stokes as being part of the Elite Academy – a stepping stone for many leading Kiwi motorsport stars to bigger success.
“The academy has been great so far,” Stokes said. “Lots of information and learning mixed with plenty of physical activity.
“It has been interesting to meet the circuit racers and learn how different the disciplines are.
“I am privileged to be here. Will take a lot away in terms of athlete performance away from the driving like mental skills, nutrition, strength and conditioning, and media skills.
“Driving on the sim has taken some adjustment to my driving style but it’s good to broaden my skill range.”
